Changes at Media Gratiae

For the last two years, Media Gratiae has learned a great deal about the craft of presenting experiential Christian teaching through multimedia studies, films, and podcasts. We have experienced this growth as an organization and team under the leadership of our friend Stephen McCaskell.

Stephen came on board in a time of need and led the way in structuring, building, and training the team. We now announce that Stephen is leaving the Media Gratiae team to pursue a wonderful opportunity to create film with Ligionier in Orlando, Florida.

Though we are personally sad to see Stephen go, we send him off with our deepest love and appreciation. Even though you have rarely heard his voice or seen his face, you have certainly seen his hands and his work in every aspect of Media Gratiae’s ministry. It was under Stephen’s vision and leadership that we expanded the Media Gratiae podcast network from one weekly episode to include the daily devotions A Word in Season and Ransom for Many, in addition to new weekly shows Hymn Stories and From the Heart of Spurgeon.

Due to COVID, countless Christians were missing local meetings within their churches. It was in this context that Ryan Bush posted a tool for family worship in a Facebook post. Stephen saw the potential in that tool and immediately developed a multimedia study called A Practical Guide to Family Worship.

For his leadership, professionalism, and friendship, we as individuals and a team are indebted to Stephen. We are thankful for his wife, Samantha and her friendship and support as well.

But as the Lord has opened a door for Stephen to use his gifts in another realm, God has not left Media Gratiae without guidance. In fact, quite the opposite is the case. Dr. John Snyder will be the new director of Media Gratiae. He will oversee the overall vision and voice of Media Gratiae while maintaining his ministry as co-elder of Christ Church New Albany.

John has been with Media Gratiae since before the ministry even had a name. Our first study, Behold Your God: Rethinking God Biblically, was the fruit of 12 years of John’s faithful, local ministry.

While there will be some changes internally, a great deal will remain the same. We will continue producing and curating podcast content we pray will point you to Christ on a consistent basis. In addition, we will present to you even more studies you can use for family worship, homeschool, Sunday school, and small groups.

God has been incredibly kind to Media Gratiae over the years, and we believe these changes are yet another expression of His faithfulness and unmerited kindness. Will you continue praying for us as take the next steps He presents to us? Would you also pray with us for Stephen and his new role at Ligonier?

Thank you for your ongoing prayer and support for the ministry of Media Gratiae and the team.
