Servant Songs III

We’re continuing our series on the Servant Songs. The Servant Songs include Isaiah 42:1–4; Isaiah 49:1–6; Isaiah 50:4–7; and Isaiah 52:13–53:12.

Strangely enough, God points us to a lowly servant. God directs the gaze of all humanity to a common servant. But what about this Servant makes Him worthy of beholding? Man has measured Him and found Him to be worth nothing. But the Father's measurement concludes He is of infinite worth and value: “Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations” (Isaiah 42:1). The eternal Son of God has taken on our humanity.

Jesus is God’s chosen One. He is our covenant. He is our Redeemer. He is our God. And He will bring forth righteousness and justice.
