Special Episode I: Rethinking God Biblically Introduction

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Since we began the Behold Your God Podcast, we have sought to highlight Christ-honoring resources that we have found helpful in our pursuit of Jesus Christ. We have heard back from many of you who found these resources as helpful and beneficial.

Because our podcast audience has grown, many who regularly listen to the podcast have not been through the resource that launched Media Gratiae, the Behold Your God studies. To that end, we wanted to present to you the Introduction and Week One lesson to both Behold Your God: The Weight of Majesty and Behold Your God: Rethinking God Biblically.

In this episode, we give you the introduction sermon of Behold Your God: Rethinking God Biblically. Through this series, John Snyder upholds the biblical descriptions of God and shows how the Christian must apply them in everyday life.

The sermons are only one aspect of the Behold Your God study series. The heart of the study is the workbook and we have made the first week’s workbook available to you as a free download.

Presenting the studies to those who have never gone through them is only one reason we want to release these. Several of us on the Media Gratiae team go back and listen to these sermons throughout the year. Each listening is only sweetened for having heard them before. If you own the video series, let us encourage you to go back and listen to the teachings again. If this is your first exposure to the Behold Your God series, find out more on by clicking here.

For this week's Supporter Appreciation Episode, we wanted to do highlight another aspect of the Behold Your God: Rethinking God Biblically study. When we created the study, we made a corresponding soundtrack. It is filled with Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs composed by Jon Yerby. You can find out more about the soundtrack in the video below.

Jon Yerby tells the story of how the Behold Your God soundtrack came to be, and why. "How Shall I Sing That Majesty" Written by John Mason, 1683; Arranged and performed by Jon Yerby. How shall I sing that Majesty Which angels do admire? Let dust in dust and silence lie—Oh sing sing ye heavenly choir! Thousands of thousands stand around Thy throne O God most high, Ten thousand times ten thousand sound Thy praise, but who am I? Thy brightness unto them appears Whilst I Thy footsteps trace, A sound of God comes to my ears But they behold Thy face. They sing because Thou art their Sun—Lord send a beam on me! For where heaven is but once begun, Oh there alleluias be! Enlighten with faith's light my heart, Inflame it with love's fire! Then shall I sing and bear a part With that celestial choir. I shall I fear be dark and cold With all my fire and light, Yet when thou dost accept their gold Lord treasure up my mite. How great a being Lord is Thine Which doth all beings keep! Thy knowledge is the only line To sound so vast a deep. Thou art a Sea without a shore, a Sun without a sphere, Thy time is now and evermore Thy place is everywhere.
